I just overheard this conversation and thought it was quite representive of how confusing French can be.
Person 1: Salut!
Person 2: Salut! Ca va?
1: Ca va, ca va. Ca va?
2: Ca va, ca va.
blah, blah, blah for a half a minute or so
1: Salut!
2: Salut!
It's all about the intonation when you're using the same three words over and over again.
In other news, I went on my second motorcycle ride. Love it! We went to our favorite Irish pub and I have to say that I felt pretty bad ass walking in with my borrowed leather jacket and helmet and ordering my beer.
